Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Fit In Training ("FIT", "we", "our") is an adaptive training coaching app for student athletes and their families. We are based in Canada. Questions about this policy can be sent to coach@fitintraining.ca.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver the service:
- Account information — name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash).
- Profile information — sport, age/birthdate, height, weight, available equipment, and time zone. All optional; used solely to personalize your training plan.
- Training data — planned sessions, daily check-ins (soreness, energy, sleep, stress), RPE scores, skip reasons, and availability windows you enter.
- Household data — if you invite others to your household, we store their email address and the invitation record.
- Push notification tokens — browser/device endpoint tokens used to send session reminders. Stored until you unsubscribe or the token expires.
- Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited). Retained for up to 90 days for debugging and security purposes.
3. How we use it
- Generate and adapt your weekly training plan.
- Send push notifications and email reminders you opt into.
- Calculate readiness, load trends, and consistency metrics shown on your dashboard.
- Maintain your account and household membership.
- Diagnose bugs and improve the service.
We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your personal information with third parties except as described in section 4.
4. Third parties
We use trusted third-party service providers for hosting, error monitoring, and push notification delivery. These providers process data only as needed to operate the service and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not use analytics, advertising networks, or tracking pixels.
5. Children
FIT is designed for use by student athletes. Accounts are created by the athlete or a parent/guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
6. Data retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g. "X sessions were completed this month") may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your rights
You can:
- Access and export your data by contacting us.
- Correct or update your profile at any time in Settings.
- Delete your account and all associated data by emailing us.
- Opt out of push notifications in your browser or device settings at any time.
Canadian residents have rights under PIPEDA. If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK you may have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
8. Security
We use HTTPS for all data in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and access controls to limit who within our team can view production data. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
